Obtain the precise outside diameters of the pipes to be jointed. Guidance figures for a variety of material diameters are provided in the table below (NB these are not intended to be a substitute for site measurements). Check the range list to see which coupling reference has a range of sizes which the outside diameters of the pipes fall within. If this is not successful, Bushes are available in a variety of sizes and thicknesses to allow the standard range of couplings to connect pipes which may have a considerable difference in their outside diameters. Adaptor Couplings allow differing outside diameters to be connected without the need to use Bushes.
